A Holistic Guide to supporting women on their journey
The inspiration behind this course came from my own personal journey into Peri Menopause. My story like most women's is a complex one to say the least. Where no one really understood or even told me it could be my hormones letting me down. This ongoing battle with my own body and mind lead me down a path of personal discovery. where after many years of thinking it was everything else but, the start of the change.
I want to help other women educate themselves so they can go on and implement changes to their own lives and can also go on and help and tell other women. Knowledge is power and us women need to take the power back and be the women we used to be.

Each women will have a completely unique journey and experience through this powerful right of passage. One size doesn't fit all. But, one thing we all have in common is this journey changes us and when we come out the other side we are changed forever, its up to you to decide how you view that change.

How Can Yoga Help?

Yoga is a fantastic exercise for the entire body. It can also improve some of the symptoms of the menopause, including sleep disturbance, fatigue, low mood and aniexty.
Our muscle tone and bone density reduce during the peri menopause and menopause so doing regular yoga practice can also be beneficial for these. Some women find its helps reduce hot flushes too.
Regular yoga practice helps strenthen muscles, improve flexibility and reduce aches and pains, and can also relieve stress and anxiety.
I use yoga as part of my own menopause treatment.

Depending on the syle of yoga practiced, these techniques can be effective in managing

Symptoms of stress and anxiety by calming the nervous system and managing sleep disturbance and fatigue, restoring depleted energy, releasing anger and irritability, cooling hot flushes and soothing hot emotions. Helping women feel more in control.

Weight gain, toning the body, increasing flexibility and mobility and supporting postive body image

Risk of osteoprosis through weight bearing yoga poses that also promote balance to prevent likelihood of falls in older age

Resistance to change - mindfulness and meditation encourage us to live in the present moment and observe our thoughts and physical sensations. They offer women a different perspective on the changes occurring in their bodies and minds, so they feel less anxious and start to accept this as a natural transistion in their lives.

In Menopause Yoga, we encourage women to see menopause as a postive opportunity for self study ( Swadhyaya) Self awarness and self care.
Menopause is largely viewed as a health condition that we "suffer from" But in fact, its a normal, organic transistion that marks the end of our menstrating years and our graduation onto the next chapter of our life.
